Can I Have Your Attention Please?

Act 1 - Scene 1

Remember the last pandemic? It started two years ago and lasted for a year... kinda.

It’s 2022 now and, after another workday, Alice is settled on her sofa. All the chores she was supposed to do are done. Those that aren't are lurking from behind the dark horizon and will come chasing her with the first photon the sun shoots at her blue eyes. 

She’s beat tired from work, and all she really wants to do is relax on her sofa.

But then comes her kid asking her to help him with his homework for tomorrow...

'I'll be right there. Just let me rest my eyes a bit.' she says.

And then suddenly her friend sends her a couple of celebrity videos on Instagram. She figures she’ll just take a few minutes to watch the videos. 

Those minutes turn into hours as she slides down the rabbit hole on her dopamine-seeking journey…

The next thing she knows, it's evening already and no, she still hasn’t found that funny cat video! (Or did she? At this point, nobody is sure.)

But she doesn’t feel bad about it.

Who's tired again?

Alice finally jumps back into her reality as she realizes it's time for her kid to go to sleep. (Hopefully, the kid did his homework on his own. Again, who's to know?).

The day is gone. Alice with deal with all of that tomorrow. ‘Just wake up half an hour earlier and it’s all cream cheese again.’ she says.

Now, the question is...

Will that half an hour be half an hour more or half an hour less?
